Fantastic service all round! Communication was great, especially considering the major Bali flooding that occurred the day before. The staff were extremely accommodating with the tour and allowed us to still have such a unique experience given the circumstances. The drive took considerably longer given the road closures but the staff were fantastic and still transported us to and from the location with no complaints or extra charge. We joined the Mount Batur Jeep Sunrise Tour with Mount Batur Volcano Tour and overall had a wonderful and memorable experience. The day started very early with a pick-up directly from our homestay. After a short drive, we were taken up the mountain in a Jeep. Initially, I had expected (mainly due to social media) that we would reach the very summit of the volcano. However, the Jeep tour only takes you to about halfway up the mountain — not the top. While this was slightly disappointing at first, the viewpoint still offers a stunning panorama, and the sunrise was absolutely beautiful. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed a peaceful morning view. Simple but sufficient breakfast and hot drinks were provided at the viewpoint. After sunrise, we continued the tour with a visit to the old lava field, where we had more photo opportunities and some time to explore the black lava landscape. The entire tour lasted about five to six hours, depending on how much time you spend taking photos. We want to give special thanks to our guide Sunia, who was incredibly friendly and professional. He took amazing pictures of us — the guides all seem to use high-end phones (like the latest iPhones), which results in really high-quality shots. Thanks to Sunia, we were able to relax and fully enjoy the experience without worrying about documenting everything ourselves. One thing to keep in mind: as seen on social media, Mount Batur is very popular and gets crowded, especially at sunrise. Don’t expect to be alone — it’s a well-known spot for both hikers and Jeep tours. However, this doesn’t take away from the magic of the place. All in all, we highly recommend this tour, especially for those who prefer not to hike. Just be prepared for the crowds and set your expectations realistically.
